hey all-

Derek and I are rolling South from Minneapolis. If anyone is heading down on Thursday and planning to roll in early Friday like we are, you're welcome to caravan along with us. Post here and we'll coordinate plans and synchronize watches!

Scott, are you sure you still want to caravan? Since I'm trailering, I probably won't want to drive as fast, and will require more gas stops. I'm cool with it if you are, but I wouldn't blame you if you want to use 6th gear. :drive1:

We're bringing wives and my kid along too, and they'll be following in the truck....so we're banking on additional fuel stops/potty breaks. Rolling together shouldn't present any issues, and ought to be fun. We're heading out from here pretty early on Thursday AM (like 6)- will you guys be ready to roll by the time we're flyin' by?

We will be leaving the Cincinnati area around 6:00 am on Friday. I'm not sure what your route will be, and you may be long past our area by that time. If it happens to work out and you'll be coming through our area around that time let me know. If not, we'll see you there.

I'll be in my '99 Vette, my buddy is driving his '64 Chevelle vert. and Dad may be driving his '67 Chevy II.

Will do Wiedo! PM me your cell number- we're hoping to be in the Louisville area Thursday night and will be leaving from there. We should be able to coordinate! We need to be in Pigeon Forge before noon for the cruise deal, so it sounds like we'll be on a similar schedule. We'd love to roll in with ya!

What route are you planning to take Scott?

If you go I-35 down to Mason City and HWY 18 over to HWY 218, I could meet you in Floyd, IA.

I-35 to Mason City (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=belle+plaine+mn+to+pigeon+forge+tn&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=4KqGTLWpPMSDnQeP7P1Z&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&ved=0CAoQ_AU)

If you get on HWY 218 at Owatonna and follow it from there, I could meet you in Austin.

I'm assuming you don't want to go through Chicago either...

No- we don't want to go anywhere near Chicago. My pal Scott mentioned going through/near Rockford IL, but we haven't mapped it out together yet. We'll send you our proposed route real soon so we can coordinate. Scott and his wife drove down there a couple years ago, so he's got a plan.

We had planned to leave mid-morning on Thursday, but might be interested in waiting a bit in order to roll into Pigeon Forge in force. Will your plans take you through Indy, or will you stay west?
Tom

If all goes as planned, we will drive the 66 and trailer the wagon.

OK Tom- that'd be extra cool and kinda historic.

(Have 2 Chevelle wagons EVER caravanned together to a Pro Touring event before? I think not...!)

I'll get route info up here soon!

Oh snap, I see multiple plans coming together!

As always, "Pro-tourers" are always welcome to crash at our place Wednesday night, or any night leading up to that. We're just 20 minutes from I-465 on the southwest side of Indy. Only downfall is the 1800' gravel driveway...

Any particular reason for going through Wisconsin instead of Iowa?

Per Google Maps, that route adds about an hour to the drive and being familiar with both routes, we'll hit a whole lot less traffic going through Iowa. Illinois has 55mph speedlimit for trailers, and a toll road near Rockford.

We will gladly take another route. Let us know how you'd like to go, and we'll do it!

This would be my recommendation... HWY 218 to Waterloo (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=belle+plaine+mn+to+pigeon+forge+tn&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=4KqGTLWpPMSDnQeP7P1Z&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&ved=0CAoQ_AU)

OK Derek - that'll work just fine.

Where do you want to meet up, and when? We'll make it happen.

Do you have my home/cell numbers?

Probably meet at the truck stop in Floyd, IA.

If you leave at 6:00, Google says you'd be hitting Floyd around 8:50... not sure how accurate that time is, it says it'll take me 1:35 to go 48 miles
