OK people I need some help on choosing wheels for my PT 73 vette Project Sinister. It is down to either Fikse profil 5s or True Forged Sleepers. Both will be black and if you check out the build thread my rendering has the true forged wheels in it. Pics below
http://www.fikse.com/2010/profil.html here is the profil 5s
http://www.trueforgedwheels.com/carshowroom/main.php?g2_itemId=5237 and the trueforged sleepers
build thread here:https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67863
thanks for any input. Justin

Wheels in the rendering look good.....are you gonna charcoal the exposed hardware as shown? If so I guess the TrueForged is what I would pick.
Although Fikse's look good on anything usually

TF's look so much better, Fikse's 5 look cheap and plain, maybe 5s or any other style.I'm sure many won't agree with me, but I'm being honest

First off, I have not seen this project but the rendering if fricken SICK! I have had a hard on for 68-72 roadster Vette's for my entire life. Had a few original type cars, some big HP 427s, had a flared out Corvette summer car back in the day But what your doing here is way high on my bucket list.
Now about wheels. The 2 wheels you are comparing are not apples to apples comparisons. They are different wheels.
Two big differences:
The Fikse is a stepped lip and a hidden hardware wheels.
The True Forged is a fat lip with exposed hardware wheels.
If you decide on the Fikse, now is a great time to buy Fikse as we have them 20% off and Fikse says the build times are down to 6 weeks now.
I will throw a couple choices more in the mix. Forgeline makes your wheel in step lip and fat lip. And they offer the wheels with exposed hardware and hidden hardware.
And I have a RTTHs commemorative batch buy sale coming up, so you can save on them also.
We have wheeled up a couple of these car so we have the fitment nailed.

Here is the SO3, a STEP LIP version with exposed hardware and your Matte Black Centers

Here is a SO3 we had built with Hidden Hardware

And here is a SO3P FAT LIP version with exposed hardware.

Of the two, I like the trueforged. But since Frank threw in the Forgeline's, I like those best of the three.

I like the Fiske Profil 5 the best.

Between the two in the OP I like the trueforged, but the Forgelines look really similar. Though the truefoged do look a bit slimmer and sharper to my eye, which I like.

My bad on the Fikse link, i thought i was doing a link to the
5s which is the wheel I would go with from the Fikse line. The wheels will be black not charcoal like in the render.

The wheel pictures is brushed, For another 1 week you can have the HTM finish center for free, and with the blind bolt option I can do $3400 for the set. Which is a supreme discount

Fikse Profil 5 is the greatest looking wheel since the invention of wheels... Too bad nobody makes a cheaper alternative that looks as good.

Trueforged is made by the same company that makes iForged: Intro Wheels. That "Sleeper" appears to be nearly the same as the iForged "Astra" wheel. I've sold a few sets of those to the PT crowd.
If Fikse is on your want list, now is the best time to buy them. Just as Frank mentioned, they are allowing us dealers to do 20% off retail on them. In the past, 10% was the max off.
Fikse will be much lighter than the Trueforged wheels.

Fikse will be much lighter than the Trueforged wheels.
i'm not a fan of statements like this because it's just words with no substantive data to back it up. whenever manufacturers and/or vendors say "X wheels are lighter than Y wheels" or "we've got the lightest wheels in the business" i shake my head, because it's all just guesswork.
that and iForged/Trueforged might not agree w/ you :). if it means anything, you're probably right though .
