If you are ever in the area you definitely need to check it out.

Thanks for the tip. I just found a place off of Vista Village drive. Something like farmer brothers but with pig in it. Cant find the name. I'll try to find it.

Love them places!!:yum:

If you think it will be fun to go to the place the filmed the piano scene in Top Gun, it isn't! I think it's called "Kansas City BBQ". Not sure.
It SUX! The wait is always too long and the food is sub par. It doesn't even resemble a KC flovor. I know what Carolina, Texas, KC, etc bbq is supposed to taste like and it was like Bulls Eye grocery store bbq.

While you're in SD you have to hit up the Hotel Del. There is a real cute girl that works at the counter there, too ;)

I eat at Phils at least twice a month. Actually went this past Friday night. The line wnt all the way around the building. I never wait in line anymore. The trick is to go with a small group, under 4 and sit at the bar. You hae to be in a stool though. You get served right away and you don't have to wait in the ridiculous line. Plus the beer is within an arms reach. lol

If they would only open a Dreamland in So. Cal. At least there's a Portillos, but that's a different animal.

Agreed! A couple weeks ago I was visting San Diego. Had a real man day which consisted of:

1. Surfing at Pacific Beach in the morning
2. Going to see Stallone movie, "Expendables" in afternoon
3. Eating at Phil's BBQ in evening- Had the beef ribs/chicken combo, it was a pig out.

Tip: Order the Whoopie Pie for dessert.

Did you know Costco sells Phil's BBQ sauce in a 2 pack? I bought it but haven't tried the sauce. maybe this weekend I'm going to make some short ribs with the "secret sauce!"

Famous Dave's??

That's it!! I went there again tonight with a friend. He loved it too. Kind of pricey but good.
Its off the 78 @ Vista Village Dr. across from the ford dealership.
