I have an 18x9" wheel up front. I am shopping tires now and came across a very good local deal on a set of Bridgestone Serenity tires (168mph rating). see link below.

Tires that I know will fit are:
275/40/R17 - 25.7" diam. 4.3" sidewall
275/35/R18 - 25.6" diam. 3.8" sidewall

These tires are:
265/40/R18 - 26.3" diam. 4.2" sidewall.

So they are a smidge taller with a bit more sidewall, but they aren't as wide. Do you think I will be ok? Any comments on the tire itself? My rear tire will be a 305 Mickey Thompson Street II. I have some reservation about the asthetic mismatch, but I'll be saving about $300.

Kind of a truck tire, that sidewall might not look bad but only you can make that call.
I had some 305/40-20's on the back of my Chevelle for a test fit and they were too tall for my tastes.
