Hello all, I'm finally going to do something with my 69 Camaro.
It is a basic 307 car with four wheel drums. I currently have a set of 15" Rallys on it now. It needs brakes and with all the other things it needs to get on the road, I don't want to spend big money brakes, wheels and tires.
So, what is the latest consensus on basic disc brake kit such as those that are offered by Classic Performance?

My plan is to drive it as I buy parts and have some work done, down the road I will go to a larger 17 or 18 wheel and bigger brakes, but there are other vehicle in line to restore first, I'm just tired of seeing it set.
Thanks, James

I like the kit personally. I like all inclusive kits as opposed to spending hours and hours researching which parts you need for a swap, then hours more trying to find said parts. Or paying goo gobs of money to buy them all brand new!
I'm not going to be too concerned with "track worthy" performance, I'd like better performance (and looks too) than drums, but I don't need the best money can buy. Mine will just be a driver, and I won't be out there tearing up the streets with it either. lol

sounds like Lonestar has what you need.
If not check out the Cheap Big Brakes http://www.pozziracing.com/cheap_big_brakes.htm. I bought some of the parts to do this then changed directions, Ill sell them if you want to try this.
this does work with 15" wheels

I was wondering when Matt's would get on p-t.com. I haven't been in the brakes section for a while.
Yankee, if you're not going to be on a road coarse you probably don't need big brakes. I got them to fill out big rims and be able to swing meat with my father-in-law. That said, I got brackets then went and found everything. Ya, it was slightly cheaper but only because I get a deal at the parts store. I still believe I would have been much further ahead by ordering a whole kit like Josue said. There's two directions you can go to keep your 15s that I know of. I haven't seen what Matt is offering lately but if I remember correctly its a semi stock kit. With that, you are going to stop like everything else on the road. Or Baer makes a pbr based kit with a little more clamp on 11" rotors. Baer is a sponsor here but muscle rodz sells them - maybe even cheaper http://musclerodzstore.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=638. I think wilwood makes one too but i'm guessing its going to be more expensive. Whichever way you go, you may never need to upgrade.
Cheapest route is prolly to get lonestar's take offs if you really want big brakes and rims down the line.
Last option and the one I should have taken off the hop is to just go big brakes now and not duplicate costs in tires, rims and brakes. I should have got ahold of Tobin at Kore 3 right from the start. I believe that would be your cheapest route long term but you would have to get rims and tires now to be driving it. Again, that said, there are always stoopid cheap rims coming up in the for sale section and drivers inc got me a two new rims and tires with two that only had 500 miles on them for a fraction of what the setup would have cost anywhere else. I got rims and tires for what it would have cost to put new rubber on my 14s.
You're on pro-touring.com - you've got connections baby!
