This is a bay area tradition The Duel at DeAnza... not as much of a competitive autocross, but a showcase for badass cars.

Wow, cool stuff! There are some cars in those pics (like the old Capri and the Datsun 510's) that don't even exist in the Northeast anymore. They rusted away long ago.

Awesome!! I have yet to capture any good, close-up action auto-X shots. And the car looks nice and flat. You can pound around on the street all day long and never realize that your springs are too soft, but during autocross, it will become painfully obvious.
Nice work :icon996:

those pics really make me miss my old 76 capri. that was a fun car with the solid lifter 2 BBL 2.8 v6 and the 4 spd. it had 3.55's from that factory with a posi and man it could scoot, i was regulalry able to keep with 70's and 80's z28's and the occasional 5.0 mustang with automatic. i really do miss that little car, my plan was to build a boss 302 style motor for it using a 302 block and a set of 2 bbl cleveland heads that i had laying around, but unfortunately th little 2.8 overheated and cracked both heads and the early 2.8 heads were different from the later model heads and were expensive too, so i had to sell the car and buy another, so i got a 78 mustang.

'77 Lancia Scorpion (or Monte Carlo if it's an imported European model). I had a '76 Scorpion from '89-early '91. That thing was slow but fun, and boy, it could handle, even on the skinny 185/14 Michelins I had on it. It did have one annoying handling fault though... If I was really hot rodding it, I could oversteer into a spin so that it would litterally spin on its center axis. :drive1: I did this once in a parking garage exit lane that had curbs on both sides and it never touched either side. How's that for 50/50 weight distribution?
