I got the 69 Firebird back into a driveable state and found that the Brake lights were still on after I turned off the car and got out. After about a minute they did shutoff. I did add a bit of wiring to the car for the Vintage Air, Electric Fan, Covan's Dash with Autometer Gauges, but I did nothing with the wiring in the trunk area of the car. I did replace the entire brake system from manual drums to Power assist Wilwood Disc and new lines.
The new serp belt kit from March has a one wire Altenator which required the remove of the external voltage regulator.
Everything else that uses the new electrical components works correctly. I have not turned on the VA A/C yet as I am taking it to get the vacuum and charge done later to day.
All the new grounds were tested to make sure they did have a path to ground and all stuff in the engine bay was ran to the battery.

Any ideas of what to look for?
thanks
Ray

brake light switch at the pedal.....it's sticking, or is adjusted too far away from the pedal.

John Thanks
If I find that it is sticking; can it be cleaned or just replace it?
Thanks

I don't think they are very expensive....if you can't get it cleaned up with contact cleaner, I'd replace it.

check the return spring on the brake pedal too, and make sure it is letting the brake pedal return all the way to the top.
