I can honestly say i am glad a piece metal shaving stuck in the secondary needle on the Holley.
I don't think I would have gone though the suspension again until next spring. just happened to look down and saw the upper A arm bolts coming loose. Should these have blue Loctite?
I imagine that would have made a mess of the fender.

I've seen more loose control arm shaft bolts recently than I can believe. It's scary.

Give it a dab of Loctite just to be sure. I also mark each critical fastener with a yellow paint pen.

Like Matt said, threadlocker and mark the critical bolts once torqued to the proper specification. On a side note, Loctite has updated their formula for the standard medium (blue) and high (red) strength threadlockers so that they don't require/recommend the use of primer. The old part numbers were 242/262 and the new updated formulations are 243/263.

Aftermarket shafts are available with a large nut, these stay put much better than the stock type.

Also never use rusty or old shims, new fresh ones will stay better.

Most people don't realize those locking nuts are only supposed to be used once. There are some mil spec lock nuts that can be reused, but most are single use. Through the nut away and put a new one on.

yep, toss them old cross shafts and buy your self a set of MOOG MG5250 cross shafts. No more loose/sheared bolts and easy camber change.
