110v to 12v power adapter for testing recommendation?

I'm looking for a 110v to 12v power adapter to use for testing 12v components, deciphering pin outs, etc.. In particular, I want one that can supply enough amperage to test most automotive electrical components.

I'm having some difficulty finding one that looks designed for testing and supplies a decent amount of amperage.

I thought I saw one once on this site, but for the life of me I can't find it.

Anyone have a brand and model number of a good one for this purpose?

As an engineer I have lots of fancy power supplys at work. But at home, for automotive testing I use an old car battery and a standard battery charger. If I want some really clean DC, I just turn off the battery charger. Works great for me, and the battery can supply alot of current when needed.
