Hi,
I am in the home stretch of an LT1/4L60E/10-bolt swap from a 94 Caprice 9C1 to an 81 Camaro. I'm using the shifter/console from a 96 Camaro, and the plan is to use the Manual Level Position Sensor from a 96 Chevy Truck (mounts on the side of the transmission.) This was the recommendation from a JTR book I have but, there's no wiring info in that book related to making it work(!) The Camaro used a floor-shifted/column-mounted neutral safety switch, and the linkage wasn't going to work as needed so I scrapped that, plus the 4L60E has the different maps for Park and Neutral versus being in an actual gear, and I've heard of guys that skip over that part and they have weird shifts as a result, and accelerated wear I'm sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
