After almost two years of a rebuild I still have no found a name fitting of my project, looking for assistance.
1972 chevelle malibu, grandfather bought new in 1971 in Tuscon,AZ. As a kid I always wanted that car that always sat in the drive with spyder webs all over it, when I would visit I made it my duty to clean her up. When I turned 15 my grandmother, and father gave me the car. After some paint, wheels ,and interior i t was now my first car and daily driver for high school. drove her into the gorund two motors, trans, rear and many dings and dents. Joined the army oin 1998 at 18 got stationed in NC. Brought to car back with me in 1999 to NC, then off to Korea for a year so she sat again in storage. Back form korea in 2001. Frustrated with not having time or money to treat her right I sold her to pay off some credit cards. well from 2001-2009 ishe was never off my mind, Got extremely luck at about 2am on my usual craigslist surf and currently having 3 projects (that my wife didn't care for) I came across a 1972 chevelle the re she was my one and only. Wife kissed me goodnight and I will never forget what happened next.
"babe that is my car"
wife" ya whatever i am so sick and tired of you talking about a chevelle i am going to bed"
"no really that MY car"
wife " ya whatever I love you goodnight"
So for another few hours all I did was stare and remember the times we used to have, the next morning unbenoundt to my wife i called the seller and in an easy term , demanded he sell me MY car back. The first reaction was ya dude first one with the money gets her and there is a guy on the way right now. I continued to persuad him. Look this was my first car would you be kind enough if I give you specific info not in the pictures hold out till I can drive from MD to NC this weekend to get her. So with my fingers crossed I continued to remember the small detail that nobody would know unless... 5 minutes later we had a deal, That weekend was teh second best day of my life(i know two days but they ran together) The 350 mile trip in the snow with my AWD TBSS with my chevelle in tow a flatbed with no brakes, nothing could have made the trip any better.
well forward two years, a ton of work but still NO NAME so with my rant of history and with the need for a name I look to you all for some great advice.
Thank you !
