Heres a little sneak peak from the photo shoot we had this saturday with Tracy from prozac and tonic photography. Feature will run in the DEcember issue of Pontiac Enthusiast with a possible cover. These are some crappy shots from over his shoulder with my cell. I got some more with my camera I will get up shortly. WE shot about 7 different locations, most on a old ww2 air base down here and then some here at the family boiler plant.

WHAT A DAY!!! My first ever photoshoot and the first time I got to see the car move under it's own power!!
It was barely dawn when Chad backed the FREEDOMBIRD out of the trailer and no sooner did he idle her down the ramp and put her in drive... he did a short ceremonious reveille-isch burnout to start the day off right! (c:]
Tracy readied his equipment as we buttoned up the trailer and wiped down the car... when the light was right and Tracy was ready to get started Chad flipped me the keys and simply said... "You drive... just take it easy Buddy!" And smiled proudly knowing what I was about to experience...
Keys in hand I opened the door, slid into the seat and started the car for the first time in over two years!! Those of you who know the sound of a large journal Pontiac can imagine the big stupid 440cid smile on my face as I listened to the cackle of 3" Pypes RacePros while I sat on the tarmac of the old abandoned runway...
In the glow of the Colbalt gauges I eased the Phoenix Transmissions 700R4 in gear... she felt like a thoroughbred anxious to leave the gates... easing off the brake I initially just enjoyed the sound of that 248/260 solid and then for the first time ever: the "feel" of the car... solid, tight, authoritative in every way... the steering felt precise... the suspension taught and purposeful but not rough... the black leather interior, dash, guages... everything felt great and the 440 has power for days!!! I was realizing my dream!
She's no Bad Penny, Jackass, Red Devil or Old Yeller... but to say this car is BAD ASS!!!! ... is the understatement of the year!! https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2005/04/thumbsup-1.gif The last time I had that feeling in my stomach was on another air strip in Germany, strapped into the back seat of an F-15E!
It's everything I imagined and more... viceral and refined all at the same time!! I wish I could have taken some pics of my face as we drove up and down that old runway at speed while Tracy took pics from the chase car!!! And I wish that everyone involved in the build could have been there to take part!! All the vendors and sponsors... all the friends made along the way... everyone here who's watched the transformation and waited just as anxiously as I have! It was well worth the wait guys!!!! https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2007/09/cheers-1.gif

Nice! I'm glad you finally got to drive the damn thing. There really is no other feeling quite like driving these old cars that can actually handle. It must have been really hard waiting since it was almost together last November. Congrats!
By the way, did you guys have an opportunity to make a few of those changes to the interior that you were thinking of doing?

We've done a few things to the interior. WE added a couple more cobalt gauges in the console and got all the wiring finished. Other than that its been getting the car back together and ready for the road. Car is now sitting on stands again. Teh wheels went back to Rushforth to be rehooped to get a little better clearance as we were having a good bit of rubbing issues with the ride height were we wanted it.

Thanks Matt!! Waiting to get the car home before I do the carbon fiber cloth on the door panels... thinking of adding the stock door pulls to the center of that panel now since I see Classic Ind is repopping them now! You'll be the first to get pics when they are done my friend!
