Last night we were awaken by the sound of a damn car crashing into our house! Passenger and owner of the car talked to us until police came and then he ran....Driver fled right after the impact. Thank God no one was injured. Story below:

Glad nobody got hurt. That would be an awful way to be awakened out of your sleep. It looks like the car didn't do any real structural damage to your house, except to the porch.

That sucks, I hope they catch the guy. At least nobody was hurt. A year or two ago the same thing happened in Reno, except the car ended up in the bedroom. The couple who lived in the house were trapped under the car for awhile until the Fire department got them out.

Well at least you can positively ID the owner of the car as being at the scene, and at that point he will roll over on the driver. Drunk I would guess?

Ironic, they run to avoid a DUI charge, but end up with a felony for fleeing the scene! Idiots. Hope they catch them and they have good insurance!

Thanks for the kind words.
Just got back from shoring up whats left of the porch and the front of the house. Must sleep........SOON! I will post daylight pics shortly.

Car "owner" is a "South Texas Import", as is most of Fairmont City Il. I doubt we will see him again....He kept shouting " I Pay..I pay!"..."I leave car and come back and pay for damage" He ran like hell when the cops came...

Glad everyone is ok. I didn't see it on the news last night...they showed some red Scion (I think) that drove into a building though. Must have been one of those nights!

I bet that was a nightmare! Glad you guys are ok over there. I tend to stay on this side of that river if I can help it. :)

BTW, hope your guys' shop is doing good. I bought some old Progressive wheels off of you for my c10.
