I know all swaps are a little different. I was just curious if I need to know anything specific about swapping a ls motor into my Pontiac? I know I will need to change out the motor mount brackets to the Chevy style....Other than that, is there anything else that would need to change. I was thinking I would need to change the battery tray as the pontiac starter is on the drivers side. Anything else? I'm just wondering if I can pretty much use a 66-67 chevelle build as a blue print. thanks for any advice.

I don't think there is anything specific. Just be prepared for possible interference between the inner tied rod ends and the oil pan. I think this issue is the same for all A bodies.

Choose your accessory drive wisely, the truck stuff with the big steering pulley mounted low can cause clearance problems with the cross member, and the large diameter truck alternators can cause hood clearance issues.

Here's our story of an L92 going into a 66GTO.

Went through this on my 66 A-body recently.

There's a dedicated sticky to this on LS1Tech

A few things come to mind.
1. Alternator to steering box clearance when using F-body accessories
2. Oil Pan issues. I used the F-body. Some are using the old style CTS-V. Others are going aftermarket.
3. Engine frame mounts
4. Mounting adapters
5. Trans tunnel clearance
6. Driveshaft shortening
7. Radiator hose
8. Fuel tank
9. Fuel lines
10...

I realized I could go on and on. There isn't just one way to do things. Good luck!
