Im restoring a 68 Firebird and I purchased the Hotchkis TVS front and rear suspention. The kit includes 2" Lowering springs and upper and lower control arms. I plan on having 18" rims and big brakes,"Kore 3 or Wilwood (http://www.wilwood.com/)". What spindle can I use? Will 2" lowering spindles drop the car 2 more inches making it 4"? Is that too low? Will my stock disc brake spindles work? Please help https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/images/misc/forumbox_top_left.gifhttps://www.pro-touring.com/forum/images/misc/forumbox_top_tile.gifhttps://www.pro-touring.com/forum/images/misc/forumbox_top_right.gifhttps://www.pro-touring.com/forum/images/misc/forumbox_left_tile.gifWilwood

I think if you use drop spindles and lowered springs your car will be way to low. Start out using your stock spindles and see how you like it.

There is a sticky here explaining why drop spindles are generally not a great idea:

I like the Speedtech AFX spindles because they improve geometry and allow you to use stock C5 brakes to offset the cost of the spindles. Worth taking a look at.

You`ve listed some good quality parts to lower the car and firm it up a bit but you haven`t listed anything that will help correct the backward camber curves, absurdly low and unstable roll center or bumpsteer issues. You can do all of that with stock spindles and a StreetComp Stage 2-Plus tall ball joint /tall tie rod end / tubular adj. upper A arm package or you can do it with something like AFX tall aluminum spindles. They`ll technically work with Hotchkis upper A arms but you can`t be sure of being able to properly align it with the enhanced geometry. It is generally better to purchase them as part of a matched kit such as our StreetComp AFX package. The AFX will give you another 1" of drop for a total of about 3". That can be adjusted if it`s too low. 4" is almost certainly too low, if you plan to drive the car at all. You can also use SPC Performance tubular lower arms with adjustable ride height to dial the car in exactly where you want it. If you`re not sure of the right combination you can always call our free "suspension counseling service". :) Mark SC&C

Another recommendation is our tall Pro Billet™ spindles which allow you to use either wilwood or C5/C6 brakes. We have a special going on now for our complete track package which includes spindles, billet hubs, C5/C6 caliper conversion brackets and billet geometry corrected Z/28 short steering arms all for $1275
