I bought a '72 Camaro while down in Florida a while back.

My plans:

- LS1/M6 swap approx. 480 rwhp.
- DSE mini tub kit.

Up in the air:

- shock/springs..... coil overs? leaf/coils?
- brakes........ baer? C5 brakes?
- rims/ tires I was thinking around 10x18 w/275 front, 12x18 w/325-335 rear

I am looking to build a car for in this order of priority:

1- cruising
2- handling
3- accelerating
4- braking

I don't expect to have the fastest car in any of the above. But if I ever go to say the Road America event, i'd like the car to do respectable and end up in the middle of the pack.

Thank you,

Roman

Don't think your gonna get that wheel/tire on the front without a different (non-stock) subframe. The DSE one accomodates up to 10", I believe.

Sounds like a nice project. Keep us updated as it progresses. Lots of 2nd gen guys on here. Got any pics of what you're starting with?

+1 An extremely large rim/tire for a stock subframe. Sounds cool though....as requested above...let's see some pics.

Thanks for the responses guys. I will take a closer look at the tires before making any kind of purchases. I guess that it's more of a wish list and wondering if it's possible and/or what's better to go with.

Thanks,

Roman

So I spoke with Alan at DSE and I think that I am going to be going to the coil over front and reaar conversion.

I plan on doing the body this winter and will buy all the quadralink and mini tub parts now so that I can weld the pieces in and do everything body wise at once.

So I will probably do it in stages.

1) Do the rear quadralink upgrade, with a Dana 60 rear.

2) Then see where I sit with funds and maybe do the front subframe the following year with coil overs and big brakes.

In the meantime keep my eyes open for a drivetrain donor car.

Should be fun, I look forward to starting the project finally.
