I test fit the LS1 in my GTO yesterday and as expected the left side inner tie rod end hits the oil pan. I noticed that the reproduction center link has a large pad that would enable me to move the tie rod end out by almost an inch and gain a lot of additional turning radius. The tie rod length would be adjusted to compensate. Can any of the gurus/engineers out there tell me the down side of doing this. I think it might affect bumpsteer slightly but I'm not positive. If needed I could also move out the other side an equal amount. I'm running AFX spindles and steering arms.

Thanks.

Not a good idea, it would increase bumpsteer.

Thanks David. That is what I was afraid of. I think I will try to get one of the mechanical engineers at work to model this on CAD and see how much bumpsteer it adds even if it is only for a learning exercise.
