I sold my baby today.....

No...not the Camaro. My boat.

I know, I know, it's not a car but I loved this boat like it was one of my children. The guy comes by tommorow to pick it up, I sold it on eBay. He dropped off the cash yesterday and I signed the title over to him. It's a 20' Bayliner Trophy with an 8 foot beam. As you can probably guess I sold it so I can use the money towards the Camaro. It's sucks to see her go but this was a good time to sell. I took that boat all over the Great Lakes watershed. Never had a problem with it during 8 years of ownership. I bought it new in the Fall of 1997. Both my sons caught their first fish on her. In fact I think the Wife and I might have conceived our 5 year old on it. Opps, sorry...too much information.

Lots of memories gonna be leavin this driveway tommorow.

(sigh).....well, that's about it. I just needed to get that off my chest. You can move on to another thread now.

I was told that boat is an acronym for Break Out Another Thousand . And that it is true that the best 2 days you will ever have over your boat is the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

I hope your car will "Float Your Boat" as much as the real one did and that you will be happy with your choice. You will be able to do your car fairly quick if you spend what a really good friend spent on his boat each year. They had to regretably sell their 28 footer because of an illness. It was hard for them to see it go too! Soooo many memories .....

Take some pictures of the people you sell the boat to so you can see what kind of smile you will have on your face when you get your car done. Positive reminders always help.

Bill....here's a picture I took about 2 weeks ago. This was the final voyage before she went up for auction. The wife and I took both our kids for a cruise through Anchor Bay and down the Black River by Metropolitan Beach. I was a nice drive....bittersweet though. I'd have to say buying this boat was a joyous occasion, but not selling it. I know that boats can typically be money holes over the course of their lives but that's what made this one special...it never broke.

Oh well...life marches on. Believe me for the next two months I'll be plenty busy in the garage to be worrying about it. Watch for updates on my website. I am preparing a page that will follow the whole paint process...taking lots of pictures right now.

In my opinion, the only good boat holds over 2000 passengers, serves awesome food (including pie) 24 hours a day, and never has to be cleaned or polished my ME! :)

Tony...I've actually been on a cruise before. The wife and I took one for our honeymoon. Carnival Destiny was the name of the boat...roughly the size of a small city floating on the water. I agree....it was the best time I've ever had on a vacation. Great food, great times, and they make you feel like royalty. Some day when we can afford it...we'll be back.

Kevin....if I get it back, maybe I could add some balast water to the hull to get a nice low stance. LOL!!!! :rotfl:

Protouring means different stuff to different people Kevin. In Tony's case it means a totally disassembled vehicle scattered all over the garage for years :poke: . So you would have to do that to the boat to excite him :lmao:

I agree with Tony H. about the cruise, I have been on three, but by far the best was the one to Alaska. We should plan one of those for a protouring get together-any takers?
