Found this on Jay Leno's Garage. Very interesting idea. Guy says he can produce tires with up to 2deg of camber built into the tire. Talk about unlimited suspension tuning capabilities...

I really like the idea, but I think I'll wait till they come out and dominate on the track or have some other real world, market tested benefits....

I could use a set right now for my Merkur... I haven't measured it, but the rear camber has got to be more than -3 degrees from the Spax lowering springs. My current cure is to shim the crap out of the backing plates, but those tires would be a nice compliment/alternative.

Hahah...

In my defense, only reason I noticed was cause they rolled the tire to them.

I couldn't watch the entire video because the guys sales pitch was to BS for me.

I guess since he pattented the technology, he cannot admit it has been done before (it has). This no one else thought of it stuff is insulting to my (our) intellegence.

I'm not clear on why the idea was abandoned long ago. Maybe it is now easier with current technology.

I'm interested to see if this works. But there is no such thing is better in every way. There has to be some downside!

the tire is always going to be fighting against itself- the outside edge is a larger diameter than the inside edge, so it's going to want to roll at a different speed.

I didn't watch it because I couldn't get past the toothbrush commercial! :hand:

How is the Merkur doing? I bought a Mustang II recently and I'm seriously considering a 2.3 turbo build for it. Going for sort of an Alcino Lite project.

There must be something special about this guy's approach to these tires for him to have patented it. Or he was able to secure the patent after old patents expired (and weren't renewed). Either way, there's definitely a market for it and it was nice to hear he was able and willing to do tires to meet specific groups' needs (if the demand is high enough I'm sure).

An aside:
