Not sure if this is the right section to discuss this. Moderators, please feel free to move the thread if necessary.
Saw this on the local craigslist. Compared to what the guy's asking, the cars that had been for sale on here were absolute bargains.

Yeah, my thought exactly. Either that or he got ripped off during the resto.

It's not a Z28... that's for sure.
Looks more like a 25-30K car.

I'm sure it's a nice car and there are a lot of good parts there, but yeah... 99k is not even just slightly high. It's blatantly comical.

Can you even stroke a 302 to a 383. Why would you want to stroke an engine that was de-stroked? And if 120K gets you that kind of hood gap, I would hate to see what it would cost to get a car with nice gaps.

Even if you took that 99 and turned it up side down to make a 66...
it would still be about twice the realistic value. :screwy:
Just my $0.02

I'm not following his math here...
IF YOU WOULD GO OUT AND BUILD A SIMILAR Z LIKE THIS YOU WOULD SPEND $90,000 IN LABOR , PARTS . YOU WOULD INVEST YEARS OF HARD WORK AND THE ORIGINAL PRICE OF $40,000 FOR A REAL Z28 ------------PROBALY A TOTAL OF $200,000!! -------------------- NOW YOU CAN BUY THIS AND DRIVE IT HOME FOR ALMOST LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE ----------------
(by my calculations: 90K labor + 40K for a "real" Z28 = 130K
How the hell does he get "probaly" a total of 200K?????
And then, drive it home for "almost less than half" the price...is that the 1/2 of 200K, because last time I checked that equaled 100K, not 120!
"...almost less than 1/2?" what does that mean anyway?:screwy:

Yes, and why wouldnt you?
I don't see why you would stroke an original 302. I would pull it and find a 350 block to stroke.

and 'aftermarket factory' glass!
do these morons even know what they are talking about??? do they really think someone w/ that kind of coin is going to drop it on such an amateurish listing? craigslist is for getting an old couch or washing machine, not $100K cars!

I have to agree with this post 100%...the biggest problem I see is that because it is a camaro people feel that they can ask stupid money for it.

x2. Plus for $99K, I'd expect something well north of 450 hp, A/C, overdrive transmission, and something other than a stock interior. Heck, even a new Corvette is a bargain.
