Well after starting the motor 2 months ago and having the cam go flat from somehow forgetting to remove the inner valve springs from only 1 of the heads, i finally got this thing back together and fired it up today. I have never heard such a beast!! This thing sounds so sweet! 11-1 compression, solid roller, Big Block and 3" exhaust make for a sweet sound!

It started right up and since it is a roller now i just let it idle. Oil pressure is about 25 at idle and 50-60 at higher rpm. I can't drive it yet, until i get the braking system finished.

Since last time I pulled the whole motor tranny, took apart the engine completely. Then had the motor hot tanked and i reassembled it. I bought a decent dial bore guage and rechecked my clerances and foudn them all to be loose at .0035, so i matched up some different bearings and got my .0025 I was looking for. I also put a Isky solid roller in it with
288/294 duration advertised
256/260 .050
.680 lift
when i degreed it, it actually came in a little bigger with the duration.
I also added Isky's Red Zone roller lifters.
I also put on a Milodon Road Race 8 qt oil pan with like 7 trap doors.
ALong with the oil pan i put a sandwich adapter with a 180 degree thermostat and ran a oil cooler.

The exhaust consists of 2" hooker super comp headers with flowmaster 4-2-1 collectors and Flowmasters "D-Port" cross over, and 3" dynomax ultraflows, and Pypes 3" tailpipes.
Can't wait to drive this thing!! In the next few days I will try and post a video, I can't believe how mean this thing sounds. I had no leaks or anything. Here are some pics

Glad to hear it went well Cody. Looking at the pics makes me wonder if there is any "flex" in your upper radiator tube?

yes there is some flex due to the rubber bushing inside the connectors. Also i have one solid motor mount. Didn't we go over this before?

Did get the new hood, VFN 3" cowl. I am thinking down the road i might switch over to EFI and hopefully be able to use a real low pro throttle body and be able to use the stock hood.

Hey! I did EVERYTHING myself including smoothing the firewall and building the entire motor, from measuring everything to assembling the heads. Only thing i didn't do is setup the gears in the rearend. I have spent the last 1 1/2 working on it byself in my moms garage. I live in my own apartment. BTW i am only 24 and pay for everything myself,.....brag.,brag,brag
