USED NASCAR parts...how abused?

I'm looking at buying a set of carrillo rods off of ebay. They do match my exact setup so that's not a problem. The 500 miles on them scare me. 500 miles of NASCAR isn't exactly gentle on these things. I mean carrillo are supposed to be bomb proof but will they last in a DD and weekend road racer after all that abuse?

there are people out there running complete old NASCAR engines that have had different pistons installed to lower the compression ratio and a smaller cam to make it livable. i think they are sold like that with a 600hp or so rating...

The NASCAR guys cycle out parts long before there is any signifcant worry of failure so most have lots of life left in them. The used NASCAR stuff can be a good deal but be aware that they often use smaller sizes for rod bearings and pin sizes and may not be ideal for street use.
