i am working on my chassis and have to add metal to meet the old.
i need input on the best way to tie this together. i have drawn up some senarios but i cant upload the drawings. a little help please.

I would suggest fish plating it and offsetting the slices by several inches.

i palnned on putting the plates for strength. my concern is where and at what angles to make the cuts for the most strength. can i email a drawing to someone to upload for me

Ideally, you would want to make the cuts as long as possible so you can put as much weld into the joint as possible, in addition to plating the joints. Trucks did this back in 2008 on a C10 pickup when they shortened the frame.

Your best bet for the pics would be to use Photobucket or the like for hosting, and then use their code to insert them into the post.

About 3/4s the way down the page... I have a pretty good angle in the cut and I fish plated both sides of the tube.
