This is copied from Avwebs news letter

NASCAR team owner and veteran pilot and aircraft collector Jack Roush, 68, is in serious but stable condition after his Beechcraft Premier pancaked on the airport and slid across the grass at Wittman Regional Airport. His passenger Brenda Strickland, 61, was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. EAA is calling it a "landing accident" but a pilot who witnessed the accident said it appeared Roush was initiating an aborted landing when a wing dropped and the aircraft hit the ground. The NTSB is leading the investigation.

Winds were a little gusty at the time of the incident. The impact caught the attention of those still on the grounds at AirVenture as a loud bang reverberated through the grounds. The crash occurred as the aircraft was attempting to land on Runway 18. More details as they become available.

I believe that's the 2nd serious plane crash he's walked away from. That guy needs to stay away from airplanes and drive directly to Vegas.

Saw it happen a plane landed before he came down and he was behind the other plane 30 sec apart looked like the jet stalled the wing tipped down and touched and nosed dived a spun the plane around The plane broke in two behind the rear windows by the rear tail. After the dust cleared the plane was on the ground with the engines running for a few minintes till some shut them off We did know who,s plane it was till it was on the news. I heard that he has facial injuries broked ribs and maybe a broken leg.
The EAA grounds is about ten min from my house a lot of neet stuff flying around

Chuck doesn't survive plane crashes. The crashes survive him.

He may not look like the luckiest guy in USA, but at that time; he was....
And no, I would not let him have my car keys either.

Glad everyone is OK.

Since he is ok....You know if Busch drove in the 60's like he did for Jack a few years ago he would have looked much the same shortly after getting out of the car.

Jack Roush is a really nice guy.
I met and talked to him for a long time at the Grand Am Series roadraces at Barber Motorsports Park last year and the year before..
Those events are not very crowded and he invited me behind the ropes to look at the cars and meet the team.
He was very personable ..
I hope he's ok..
