I am running the stock 16" wheels on my 91 Camaro right now and need tires. I am wanting to try out the autocrossing scene with the car, so I would like some sticky tires for it. The fronts are 245/50/16 and the rear is a 255/50/16... I would like to keep the fronts at 245 , but think a 265 or a 275 out back with a 40 or 45 series would be good since I have MUCH more horsepower than the car came with... I think the overall diameter is 26.1 or so, I'd like to stay with that diameter... One day I will step up to a larger wheel and get with the times, but for now my bank account says no way...
Thanks for any help !

Define sticky ... there's DOT "race" tires available but they're not cheap. For learning purposes, try the Kumho Ecsta XS. They have a 265 available but not sure if this will fit up front. The next size down is 225 ... :-(
Slim pickings in a 16" tire size now. If you can run the 265's all the way around, do it.

there are some good ones, but they are rated as a summer tire only. I just got a set of Kumho's 245-50 in 16's. Next year I'll upgrade to 17's with better choices.

These are good for the street, they are 340 treadwear, so not too much for the track...but are the lowest treadwear in a 245/50/16 thru Discount Tire which also have a 255/50/16.
You're going to have a hard time finding fatter tires in a 16" wheel.

A Riken Raptor ZR (tw 300) popped up, but they only go up to 245.

I'd stick with the 245 front, 255 rear combo. You'll be hard pressed to find anything wider than the 255, especially in a 45 or 40 series profile. Anything wider in a 50 series will look awkwardly tall.
