A 315 is going to be tough. We have set up a ton of guys with a 305 on the back of a 68-72 A-Bodies but the backspace has to be spot on.

I have done a lot of research for this car and on a set of 11" rims the offset would be 5 1/2 and with a 10 it would be 5" and the sumitomos 315 tires run a little small for their size thats why i was hoping it would work any info please let me know thanks

I have 315/35/17s on the back of my cutlass. They rub the quarter lip. I'm going to have the rear springs changed to raise it up a bit. Being a cutlass it may be a little different than your chevelle though. my wheels are 10.5" wide with 6.5" of backspacing.
Edit: only the right rear would rub. Maybe its cause only that wheel spins.

did you think of shaving the lip of the wheel well a bit?

yeah I did. That probably would have fixed it. I like the new springs better though, a lot stiffer than the eibachs. The new ones are global west. Oh and having the rear raised more makes the tires look wider.
