Funny, I was just thinking about them this morning. I haven't used them either but am interested in feedback as I may be using them in the future.

Hello Gentlemen, this is my first venture onto this site and subsequently my first posting. I have no personal experience with emachineshop, but I am a manager of a metal fabrication plant in Idaho that has the capability to cut, form, bend, punch and powdercoat nearly anything you can design. I would be happy to take a look at what you fellas have in mind. We offer CNC plasma cutting, forming, aluminum welding, sandblasting, powdercoating, and in-house shipping. You are welcome to send me anything you are looking at fabricating and I can shoot you a quote. Typically we can turn parts around in one to two days (depending on lot sizes, of course) at a very competitive price.

No problem. If you have any difficulties finding anyone to mill those at a reasonable price, I would be happy to run it by the machinist I use. He's reliable and very prompt. Keep us in mind!

emachineshop.com has been posted a few times over the years @ thirdgen.org. If you don't mind taking a few minutes to go to another site, you might find something there. I don't know if anyone there used them or not, I just remember for sure there were several threads on it, including one guy who used to use their software to design a part and get a quote.

$70 an hour and yeah accept STEP files but I'd rather work with dxf or dwg.

Sorry for digging up this old post but I have used emachine shop several times and the pieces have always been right and on time. Not cheap for the first piece but sometimes that is the only solution. HTH- Jim

Depending on what you need, there are some less expensive options. The stuff I needed I got from Blue Torch Fab Works (http://www.bluetorchfab.com/), but Welders Series (http://www.welderseries.com/blog/online-store/) has good prices as well. Ballistic Fab (http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/Custom-Services_ep_40.html) will also do custom stuff but I didn't contact them for pricing.
