...just judging from the riggin' that I saw in that short clip, I'd bet they would tie the car down with a 3/4" wide ratchet strap.

I respectfully disagree. I'd put money on them putting the honda in park and closing the door.

I had a similar, but less traumatic, incident when loading my XR4TI into the moving trailer (you know, big moving trailer like from Mayflower or Allied) for transport to Sarasota from Seattle. It was running, so we didn't have to push it... but it is a 5 speed manual with a turbo 4 cyl. So the guy lines me up on the narrow ramps and I start up, using the emergency brake to modulate my progress as I'm furiously working the clutch and throttle with my feet. We get the car up to the top of the ramps, edge the front wheels over onto the trailer and the rocker moldings hang up a bit. And then the ramps start to move slightly... only no one told me. I'm in the car, front wheels on the trailer, trying to push past the rocker moldings, and the ramps are starting to move more... and guy that is guiding me doesn't know. Being completely ignorant of the situation, I pretty much gun it to get past the rockers, boosting to 18lbs, and shoot up the ramps... or more accurately, apparently I shot the ramps out the back like missiles and launched the car so that the rear tires catch the very back edge of the trailer on the front side of the tires. Luckily I'd just installed a limited slip diff in the car a week before, so instead of slipping, spinning, or sliding backwards, the car just climbed the back edge of the trailer and on in.

After it's all over, the movers and neighbors standing around are screaming at me, holding their chests, totally freaked out, panicking. I get out of the car and they tell me what happened and I just laugh... ignorance truly is bliss. BTW, the ramps had not been secured to the trailer, so they were just sitting on the back edge of the trailer by a lip of like 4-6". I hired a flat bed tow rig to get the car off the moving trailer.

Of course, if I'd been driving a Honda, I would've been screwed too. Maybe that's the moral of the story... drive a Honda and you're screwed.

Todd, that Double Rainbow deal is probably one of the funniest things I have ever heard----that video has had over 6.2 million views---I laughed so hard I had to walk away from the computer. Guy has to be on the bong train---but i'll have whatever he's having.

Loading a car into a U-Haul truck used to be the one BIG No No that U-Haul was very specific about their dealers enforcing! The ban on transport of a vechile in a box truck was specifically noted in their contracts. I would doubt that this has changed.

One of my partners in the old car lot was a U-Haul dealer and part of his responsibility was to question the renter about their intended use. As I remember it has to do this Federal laws concerning transporting of a motor vehicle, insurance and other regulations since the truck is a rental. U-Haul box trucks did not qualify for or were setup for vehicle transport. I know it's been done and tried lot's of times but there were severe monetary charges noted in the contract if U-Haul caught you or your were stopped and ticketed.

A friend picked up a u-haul rental, and there were cattle hoof-prints, caked mud, and hay all over the inside of the truck. People are such idiots, and even knowing, at times, it still surprises me how much they are...

I can imagine the u-haul clerk: "Sir, are you going to transport a motor vehicle inside this truck?", and they cow guy laughing his azz off..
