Thin ductwork??

Ok, where would I find some thin flexible ductwork to put some vents in the backseat area of the wagon? Something that I could run from the front unit along the floor and under the seat to the back? Is there a factory set in anything that I could grab from a salvage yard or anything?

Ideas?

Try mini vans/suv's. some have floor ducts through the console & some have them in the headliner!!!! Wiedo

The Suburban/Tahoe/Avalanche has plastic ducting that runs along the floor and terminates at the rear of the front seats. Not sure if it'd match the contour of the wagon's floor, but it's at least something to look into.

also late model caddys have the plastic duct work that runs under the seats that might fit a bit better than the truck stuff that runs through the center consol.

Something else I just thought about... Most of the OEM ducting is black ABS plastic. As long as you supported it on the inside, you should be able to use a heat gun to mold it as needed.

If you are building a center console you could just run the normal flex duct through it an have the vents exit the rear of the console.

I had thought about running the duct work through the console as well. Would the VA system in my 72 Nova push enough air to make to the rear and not lose a whole lot of performance for the front passengers?

So whats wrong with some 24 ga. air tunnels that you run along the tunnel hump or squash some .065 sanitary pipe into an oval for the runners of the duct work. I know you have access to the tin - if you need the sanitary pipe I can help you there. I'd be worried about that stuff crushing is why i say metal.

I had thougt about metal, but was hoping there was an easy junkyard item instead. But, I don't know about the sanitary tubing......what is that?
