I saw an advertisement for some material that comes in sheets that get cut into sheets and formed by hand. The sheets then are activated by exposing them to sunlight. I just can't remember the name of the product. Any help would be appreciated.

In case your wondering I am making speaker enclosures.

are you talking about pre-preg carbon? I think it's alot more hassle than it's worth, unless you're set up for it,you need a freezer and cook the part under high temp and pressure for it to cure .Why not just use fleece?

No its not carbon fiber. I know what he means and it is fiberglass, I just can't remember what its called either. They had it on two guys garage I think and it was in one of the magazines a few months ago.

Just re-read and article on it that appeared in Hot Rod, but I can't remember the name of the stuff either. They used it to make a center console for one of their project cars. I was thinking it might be useful to make one-off stuff like a light weight hood for my XR4TI.

No problem, Ive been looking at using that stuff too for a few small projects. If you do use it make sure to post up how it was to work with and how well it worked

I'd be interested in hearing from someone who's laminated multiple layers of this stuff, similar to how you would treat fiberglass.

IMO, it doesn't seem well suited for detail work.

you can also buy abs plastic in sheets and use a heat gun to mold it..
