OK, we got the 66 Chevelle to the strip last weekend and on the motor alone it ran a best of 7.356 @ 94 mph. I spent the week swapping out springs, shocks and dropping some weight to try and knock off 3 tenths. The motor alone should go 7.0 no problem. Then, we have yet to hit the spray-running a 300 shot and can go up to 750 but I feel the stock 400 block may split in two...lol. With a hard launch and good traction on the spray, we should get very low 6 seconds with the car. Not bad for a full interior car running 10.5 slicks on stock type suspension. We r taking it Friday night to Eddyville so we'll see how it does again. No cage though so we'll hafta tickle the 7.350+ mark until the last run of the night...full bottle run and hope nothin breaks! I'll post some viedos of it after this weekend!

I love last runs, especially when people are trying to kill their engines. Good Luck!

Well...we had some launching issues with 60-foot times all over the place. Best run was the last with a 7.140-we ran a 7.321 just before that. We shredded the serpentine belt on the last run though. The car needs new plugs...it kinda loads up at staging. The weird thing is tech never came looking for us nor did the ticket guy say anything about not running again until we get a cage. I dropped tire pressure from 12.5 to 11 psi on the last run and we picked up some time but can't get through the traps any faster than 94 mph. This car started out as a street car that sees a few track runs. Now it's getting to be a track car that is still streetable. So, I gonna have to swap the 3.55 gears for 4.56's and work on the suspension a bit more. It's still all steel with a full interior and all accessories. High gears with a full interior running low 7's ain't too bad I don't think.
