Does anyone make a rack and pinion conversion kit that has a quick ratio like a race car? I think the quickest I have found so far is a 2.75 turn lock to lock.

Thanks

I'm not really interested in buying a REAL race rack nor fabricating every bracket and piece needed for the install. Are there any that come in a kit for a 69 camaro/firebird?

not too many kits are good. THey just use an OEM rack that was not designed for teh stock steering arm lenthgs.

i remeber "church boys racing" had something. Maybe its "church brothers..."

I made a custom rack setup with an 89-94 Cavalier power center take off rack with 2 7/8 lock to lock. A little geometry and fab skills allowed for a bitchin system on the cheap.

BTW- The Church setup is for early Novas. I dont care for it, but others are satisfied.

Trust those that have researched this... If you must go with a rack, the Unisteer setup is supposedly the best... But don't underestimate what a good steering box can do... I would put a large sum of money on a Lee steering box outperforming a Unisteer or Steeroids rack conversion.

Do not be blinded by the idea of a rack being the greatest thing since sliced bread...

Would you recommend overhauling the whole setup and just going with a new box?

Lee of DS&E? I have a standing relationship with DS&E so I would prefer to use them. Do they make a quality box?

I'm sorry that was a typo. I meant DS&E OR Lee.
