Here are a couple of shots of my dad's 68 Camaro. We just got it back on the road after installing a Wegner built carbed L92. We kept the 4 speed and mechanical clutch linkage.
I know it sits a little high, but I have not been able to convince him yet to put more money into the suspension. Besides, if I did, I would have to find the time to do the labor for him...

Very nice, what accessory drive are you using for the alternator and such?

What did you use for an LS bellhousing & mount for the pivot ball for the mech linkage?

We used a regular Chevy Lakewood scattershield and a ball pivot from Scoggin Dickey. It also made it necessary to use a set of engine mount plates from Schwartz Performance that set the engine back another inch allowing us to get the correct alignment on the Z bar.

Hmmm, first i have heard of having to run 1" setback plates for z-bar/mech inkage alignment? Good to know.... What headers did you end up with?
good to see another carbed LS guy on here!
my t56 in my car is toast. i miss my old autogear m22 i used to have in the car. wish i would have kept it.

We ended up using Hedmans but had to move the #7 primary to clear the Z bar. I was happy with their nice tight fit to the floorboard. Much better than the Hookers I have on my car.
Without the setback, the Z did not line up. We ended up having to shim the pivot ball rearward, but that may have had something to do with the thinner Lakewood bell vs. a cast one.
Schwartz designed the plates when he was building the red 68 Corvette and wanted to keep the 4 speed and manual clutch with the LS engine he put in it. Worked like a charm when no others would and he was only 50 miles down the road. Went and got them next day.

I've been watching your posts since I had the carbed LS2 in my 67. I went to the dark side while my car was blown apart for paint and ended up building an EFI L92.

Neat, and tell Dad the car looks like a cool cruiser!
What coil relocation brackets are those?

Thanks. Wegner made them. They mount right to the top of the valve cover.
