1967 camaro
California Car,
Black Plate
deluxe interior
All original, straight as an arrow. The top was a vinyl top and the car sat for 5 years outside before moved indoors. The interior is near perfect. Air conditioning and power steering. I will have keyes cut tomorrow, change fluids and see if she starts. She was driving when put into storage in 1978.
Have service docs too. Have no idea what is in the truck as i cannot get into it until tomorrow. Very excited.

Great find, but do a little more research before just trying to fire it up. There is a nice procedure to follow before bringing dormant engines back to life.

Local paper. 1st person to call on it. Begged and begged to see it first. had to wait 48 hours to see it. Held my breath the entire time.
Car was covered, then had wood and boxes sitting on it. 30+ years of dust. Has the old car smell....real old car smell. The interior is absolutely amazing. The body is very straight considering. The roof needs work, but the headliner is perfect. If painted, it would be a totally stock 67 in brilliant shape. As per the mechanicals, I need to get her started. I have a locksmith coming to key the car today. I have yet to see what is in the trunk. There were tons of service docs in the glove box, including gas receipts....11 gallons of gas for $4 bucks. Wow! those were the days.
Called AAA for tow, waited an hour and then they would not tow it. Waited 2 hours for a tow truck and was way late for work. But it was worth it.

Pretty neat find. You can decode that tag here

Looks like it was very early production in Los Angeles.
It was Sierra Fawn paint. Always cool finding unmolested cars.

No plans. Just clean her up, get her running and work on the body slowly. The interior is perfect. The body is great, it is just the roof that has issues. I have never see a camaro this stock, I had never seen the smog equipment or the kleenex holder. Very exciting.

My uncle had a A/C evap in his 68 Cutlass mounted over there...well, I take that back, maybe his was mounted in the center....I was 3 years old, but I remember that thing freezing me, cuz I had to sit in the middle.

Cool stuff!
That paperwork is priceless.
Love the Sears Auto recomendation:
"Needs shocks, idler arm and stabilizer link pins".
When I was a punk and worked at Firestone in the early 80s; We ended up recommending that on half the GM cars that came in the door!

I just noticed the mileage log, it is very interesting. That page covers about 3300 miles and it shows 6 quarts of oil were added. Some quick calculations show it was getting between 10 to 12 MPG. It was probably ready for a rebuild, so they parked it. It isn't something you young guys would remember, but back then it wasn't uncommon for cars with 100k miles to be ready for a rebuild. Not like todays FI engines. Still a cool find.

Sounds good,be sure (if you have not done it already) to go over the brakes very well,a car that's been sitting that long would have cracked or very old rubber on the car, things can get rough out on the road or freeway if one of those old brake lines gives out.
Do yourself a check and go through the brake system, replace the shoes, hoses, lines if needed and do a complete brake bleed, the time is well worth it,and you will be safe on the road!
Just some $0.02 to think about!
Have fun with her..

Yes, all the GM documentation.
By the By, she has to be sold. My 68 pro touring project just came back from wiring and my 70 convert stang will be coming out of the body shop in the next 4 weeks. Caught some heat from the woman about another car. 3 muscle car projects are livable, 4 are not. So...if anyone is interested. She is running.
