View Full Version : Which body mounts? Body to subframe.

I'm confused with all the choices and I need some new body mounts.

Just some Polyurethane, not rubber, something that won't squish out too bad. I don't need solid mounts, and I'm trying to keep the cost down.

Running a fairly common drive train, SBC and 700R4 transmission so I don't need a lot of room but I'd like not to have to alter the mount and height when and if I put a T56 in.

I don't plan to slam the car down, just a good driver and fun in the twisties. Tires will be about 245/40R18 front and 275/45R18 or about there, again nothing crazy but nice and pretty bolt on.

Lastly, any idea on the torque value on the bolts?

Thanks!

whats wrong with new stock bushings? You'll never know the difference if it's just a DD for fun.

I want something a little more durable. It is for a DD, but with some stiffness. I will upgrade a little as I go, and it's got Poly suspension bushing already.

Thanks!

why not use solid bushings. No advantage to poly except more likely to squeak.

Go with solids... Torque them down 80-90 lbs
