A week ago our full term daughter was born but did not survive. Its been real hard for us around here but especially for my wife. To help get her in better spirits I decided to dump the minivan and get her something a little more fun.

We started looking for a LS1 6-speed convertible. We found that what few out there were worn out junk or had owners that wanted to retire on the sale. Discouraged we started looking at Mustangs. We drove an 05 for the first time and I was not expecting how much I ended up liking it. We traded the wife's van in for a 06 Windveil Blue with black top GT 5speed car in east TX. The color was not our first choice but the deal was right and all the other equipment was what we were looking for so we pulled the trigger.

I've always been a pretty diehard GM guy but this might change things.

So sorry to hear about your daughter Richard, my sincere condolences.

You'll be happy with the Mustang, they are good cars with a lot of potential to be unlocked!

Very nice Richard. I looked at Mustangs pretty hard before I got my Challenger. I really like them, but the full retro style of the Dodge won me over.
I don't really like the styling of the new Camaro. I wanted to, but they missed it for me. They look pretty good from the side, but I don't like the big eggcrate grille and the rear is just strange looking. The interior is funky too and I can't see out of them very well. Dodge went full retro, Ford went new/retro and Chevy just went....somewhere else.
I have always been pretty die-hard GM too, (always will be a fan of old GM iron) but they managed to drive me away with their bonehead moves. Especially when they axed the Camaro the first time around to build more SUVs and were completely unapologetic about it. Now all I'm interested in is pulling engines out of one of their new GM cars to put in my old ones.
I hope you are all doing well (at least as well as can be so soon after what happened). Have fun with the new convertible. I like it although I think I preferred your previous one. Of course I may be a little biased. :)

Hi Richard. I am so sorry to hear of your family's loss. I remember that you bought that 69 Firebird to build for your wife. Maybe if it doesn't sell you will get around to building it for her one day. It would compliment the Mustang nicely.

Take care,
Don

No words can empathize with your loss, but God Bless and my condolences for your loss.

I hope the Mustang brings her spirits up enough to heal her heart some.
