hey guys i put my engine in yesterday and was going to see how the 5.3 truck pan would fit and it cleared everything as far as the crossmember but it hangs down like 4 inches below. my car is slammed and this isnt going to work. any ideas on what pan would be the best for my app.? the engine is a 5.3 ls with edelbrock engine mounts in a 71 chevelle. i was thinking moroso or autokraft/champ pan but didnt know if anyone else was going through this. please any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks joe

you have many options champ pan, cts-v, and f body(need a bit set back) and the retro lsx pan. You can always take the truck pan and have it cut. It will depend on the budget. Go over to http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids-28/ and read the stickies. it will blow your mind on how many times its been covered.
here's a pic of the ctsv on a 71 chevelle

man i just read 14 pages and still confused!!! i think the cts-v pan would help alot and maybe the moroso 20140 pan is at 6 inches tall. i also thought of a dry sump like the ls7 but i think the price will be alitlle to much. oh decisions decisions
