Here is "weekend mode" in my garage. That is my '37 Coupe on the lift. The '69 Camaro is my vintage road race project.

You are very right Leigh, That is why the secret movable wall is being constructed. I am moving an hour and 10 minutes in another direction so the house is not even close to the location I show in my profile.

Minneapolis is a large metro area with over 200 homes in the parade. If you can find it and open the door I will give you a prize. A 12 pack just for you in the flavor you prefer.

There will be 200 people per day through my new home that will be walking right by my secret room and not even know it.

A boyhood dream. A secret room realized. Best part is it was already in the foundation. I just had to convince the builder not to backfill that or let the building officials in on the secret.

225 square feet that the tax assessor/police/government/thiefs don't even know exists. It is being framed out this week for 100 year old barnwood siding with a carnut that needs a saferoom.

One guy made a secret door that led to a basement that came up over into his garage, like 10 feet from his house.

I think it's a cool idea. My parents restored an old farmhouse and my Dad made a storage area at the top of the stairs in the 2nd floor hallway (about 2' deep, 40" wide and 48" long). The top stair/landing lifts up to get to it but unless you got down and looked underneeth the overhand of the landing for the hinges, you'd never know it was there. He stores his guns & ammo in there. He also has 2 removable floorboards in his office that cover a safe in the floor.
The house next to where my mother grew up in NJ was an big old colonial w/ a small "panic room" and a very narrow hidden stair case the led down from the second floor to a secret panel in the dining room I believe. I never saw it but she told me stories about being friends w/ the girl who lived there and they used it as their hide out as kids. Pretty cool stuff!

This was my set up with my old 1 car garage in Hawaii:

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2010/12/DSCN0135-1.jpg (http://s6.photobucket.com/user/skooli/media/DSCN0135.jpg.html)

Now I have a little more room in the new house. I'm moving the Mustang in this weekend to keep the Camaro company. And hopefully the movers get here soon. The house and the shop are empty.

Awwww dude..... I'm smiling just looking at your photo.
I couldn't imagine how much of a ____-eating grin I'd have if that were my garage.
The floor....The red, black and gray trim....which just happens to match the tool box....
Then of course....the black Chevy that blends in with that sexy floor.

That's just sexy man, I gotta tell ya.

No big deal. That was 4 years ago.

I only had 4 feet of water in the shop,, 8 feet of water in the basement garages and 18 inches in the upper garages. Nothing in the house.

I considered the flood an "Inconvenience" on my part since only my basement and garages got flooded. Other folks had 8 feet in their house!

It's all about perspective!

Good - I recognize that 510!

The interesting part is that the 510 WAS parked in one of the basement garages. I moved the car out of the basement garage and since it was raining I put the car in one of the upper garages so the car would not "Get Wet"! As the water continued to rise I was working on so many other things I totally forgot about the 510 in the upper garages and it still got a "Little" Wet!

I guess a "Little Wet" is a hell of lot better than totally submerged!
