I have what I hope to be a simple question, however I'm having a heck of a time searching for an answer.
When installing cam bearings in a Gen III motor, does it matter the direction in which they're driven in?

Im going to go out on a limb. Do the bearings have holes in them? I presume they do so they must be lined up..?

The bearings I went with are Clevite 77 P series. They do have two oiling holes, roughly 90 degrees apart. I did ensure that one of them was lined up with the gallery.
My main question is if they could be driven in from either the back or the front. I've heard conflicting stories. Sometimes I hear it doesn't matter, others I've heard can only be installed from a specific direction.
Two days ago I did end up installing them. All but one bearing went in very easily. The bearing I had trouble with was #3. I tried driving it in from the back. When driving it back out I tried pushed it out the front. Going out that direction was much easier than going in. I'm assuming there is something to the rumor, even though the GM manual states you can drive them from either direction.
I guess we'll find out this evening when I'll be re-installing #3 from the front.

Driving #3 in from the front is indeed easier. All in all, I installed 2,3, and 5 in from the front, 1 and 4 from the rear.
