Anyone ( Hotchkis? )making any kind of bolt on handling kits for these trucks? The only stuff I see is the air bag type set-ups. I can't find any big sway bars or springs. thanks

Sway bars are pretty big to start with. Check out 1 ton bars. for springs, check the outside diameter of the spring and go to speedway motors.com and look at the springs. As far as a rear bar goes, the pne ton trucks had rear bars also. Im not sure what you want to do but thats about as close as I can get you.

The suspesion from 1960 to 1987 is simular and stuff like sway bars should be able to be adapted. When GM ditched the torsion bars and went to the coils from that year foward springs will work. Cutting down a set of 1 ton springs will work for lowering and raising the spring rates to help handling, and the sway bars for the 1 ton off the front will work too (the rear off a 1 ton is HUGE so be cautious). I would look at swaybars from Addco or Suspension Technique.

1 1/4 from 3/4 & 1 ton work wonders, I have Air Ride on my 78 and LOVE IT.
I built a parallel 4 link, bolt on all except the axle brackets. When I start driving it again Ill make a watts link over panhard bar.
I have been in resprung trucks and the difference is lightyears better on air.
Heck I even used and A6 compressor for air source.

Try http://belltech.com/ they have drop spindles, sway bars, lowering springs etc etc. They have everything you'd need for a static drop on your truck.

I"ve never seen a bolt in 4-Link kit that isn't for air. But if you check out www.suicidedoors.com . They will definitely have a kit for your truck thats bolt-in and you can just modify the air bag mounts for springs. But they also will have all the parts you need to fab up your own DIY 4-Link and Step Notch if you wanna do a coil-over setup in the back.

Hope this helps

We've had one of these trucks for years refining the suspension components. Anything from complete street Challenge systems to a simple front swaybar. http://www.ridetech.com/shop/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=1898&subcats=Y&features_hash=V179

Here is ours:

It has now been turned into our shop truck for Precision Coachworks, our bodyshop.

Bret,
That truck is very nice. You guys have come out with some pretty sick suspension components.
I wish you guys came out with a bolt-on kit for us 2dr 2wd Tahoe owners.

That's a nice system, can the ride height be adjusted with the air bags? I have never rode in a car with air bags what are they like?

ridetech products are real nice on the C10's.
If your lookin to not use airbags. Search out Porterbuilt Street rods located in mesa,az he is working on a kit that uses corvette suspension.

Those of you who have seen Hickman's orange C-10 or Rob Phillips' two tone at the Goodguys autocross have seen the Hotchkis C-10 prototypes in action. We have swaybars (http://www.hotchkis.net/6772_c10_sport_sway_bar_set.html) available now and full TVS set-ups by end of summer:

Are you making a TVS system 73-87 GM 2wds? the link for the sway bars are for 67 to 72's which I don't think have the suspension as the 73 and later stuff....
