Is anyone running a ventilated catch can instead of redirecting into their carb?

I have read that oil vapor reduce octane in the fuel.. lowering efficiency/mileage.. any truth or benefit to a catch can?

Another option is to plumb the valve covers to the header collectors with a crankcase evacuation system, run just the system and no breathers this will create vacuum in the crankcase and increase power, you can buy these systems from moroso and other sippliers. Your right, putting any kind of oil vapor into the intake tract will decrease power.
