I am new here

My wife and I attended my first Autocross last weekend in Coloma Michigan and had a great time! MOTOR STATE CHALLENGE
After spending many years in the offshore boating world as a hobby I have now sold all the boats and am looking into a different form of fun :) We are starting to look at cars to participate more actively in these events.
After attending our first Autocross, Road Tour, and Road Course event in our 2000 Corvette C-5 I think we need something else to run with This type of sport also will fit well with what I do for a living (more about that later after I check out the terms of use on here)

I am looking forward to some dialogue here as I have been active on offshore boating sites for many years but not as much on the car sites as I should be both for work and fun

Welcome Marc. I'm originally from Grand Rapids but currently in Switzerland. My project is still in GR and I get back a total of about 4 weeks a year to work on it. It's not much, but it's a lot of hours when I'm back...

What car are you looking for?

Are you looking at PT'ing a pony car, muscle car or less traditional? It may also be helpful to find out exactly what you want to do with it, i.e. run in a class that has certain rules. Sometime the class will narrow down what the best automobile is.
You say you have dabbled in Road Touring? Is that the SCCA Road Touring? I would love to do that in a TL or a CTS-V!

Welcome Marc,
Glad you had a good time at Motorstate. Nice meeting you and your wife. Good luck with a PT "toy". It has to be cheaper than offshore boating!

Welcome to the dark side Marc from another X Offshore guy LOL (I owned the Cobra Powered "TAZZ" cat back in the late 80's & early 90's)....

My friend Gary Montano (Drambuie On Ice) and I had a lot of fun on the water back then.... I'm sorry we really didn't get much of a chance to chat at Motor State, however I'm sure we'd have a lot of fun stories to trade from our experiences on the water....

BTW My wife Lynn and I had the White & Black 72RS Camaro and the White on white 73 TA with the Carbon Fiber hood at the Motor State Challenge...
