My old man has this killer set of tools......

I use propane alot for roofing, the blowoff is a common thing in the summer, but I hate it needless to say! It has always made me nervous, and it scares the living crap out of you when you are standing next to it and it pops off!! I guess we've been very blessed for nothing bad happening for the amount of times that it has happened to us!

Wow! My dad has been in the propane biz all my life, every truck he's ever had ran on propane, I've filled countless bottles and tanks. Never ever seen a bottle bleed off on it's own. I wonder if it was over filled.....then again I think the new valves are suppose to prevent that..anyway, crazy stuff. I'll be dang careful with bottles in the back of a truck. I've heard stories of aerosol cans exploding in the heat too. I always try not to leave stuff in the sun.

Smoking?...I think that was probably vapor that they were seeing, and not actually smoke. When the liquid gas is under pressure it stays a liquid, but quickly turns to gas when there is no pressure(outside of the tank). Propane will boil at minus 43°F, unless it is under pressure.

I bet static discharged off his fingers as he touched the metal tank...scary stuff, it's amazing he lived.

Here is the real kicker, if a Propane tank is smoking or dicharging, why would you reach for it?!?!

Seems like a pretty silly thing to do.

And yes, the Hill correlation was hilarious.
