How hard should it be to turn the crank to install the torque convertor... I used a 1/2 inch breaker bar and a good amount of force and it still wont turn

It shouldn't be anywhere near that hard.
Is this at the going in or coming out stage?
If going in are you certain that the TC was fully in the pump?

+1 check to see if you can spin the converter

is the trans bolted to the engine? What the guys are saying is if the trans is bolted up the converter should spin freely. If it does not, then it is not all the way into the pump of the trans and is jammed between the crank and pump, which would make the engine very hard to turn over................ and would destroy the pump if you did manage to bolt up the converter and fire the engine.

are the spark plugs in the motor? if so take them out. If they are out, it should turn easy.

Plugs still in the motor will try that before I use the dextron

Yep, you need an impact socket or the right tool that mounts on the snout. Been there and done that on a high compression BBC.

Is there a concern that corrosion may be hanging up things on the cylinder walls? If so a bigger tool might do more damage than good.
With stock LS1valve springs, plugs removed, and if the lower end is free, it should not take very much to turn it over.

Thats what I thought..What do you thing I should do at this point... Should I just start preping for a rebuild (stock)

I would....it would suck to get it all freed up just to have it not hold oil when you get it all together.

Or gouge the cylinder walls, break rings, etc.
