Hey guys, names TJ. I got a 69' Roadrunner project, BIG project Hawaii weather isnt too friendly on steel. But she is rumored to be the only 4spd on the island.

The picture my friend showed me after I got wind his friend just picked one up from another one of his friends, looked great from a distance(the orange/mustard one)

So about 3 months after I saw that I heard someone was gonna buy it from the otherside of the island so I cut there line and jumped on it. It was pretty rough when I got there, guy was saying he was gonna put it on craigslist for $1200!!! I walked out of there with the RR and the satellite 4 door for $500. I had to call a good friend of mine to actually convince me to buy it, but he made it clear Ive always wanted a 69' Plymouth so I couldnt resist but she is a project.

Day I brought her to my friends house.

As she sits now, minus suspension.

She is rough, but the pay off for the rumored ONLY 4spd 69 on the island will be great.

Anyway I am looking for advice/help because I dont want to just drive this in a straight line. An aggressive street machine that will raise eye brows or have jaws drop SCCA auto x meets as well as can run the 1/4 with a respectable time is my plan. So Ill be around asking suspension questions mostly, see ya on the board.

Yeah parts aint cheap, well once you add shipping to the bill. BUT a friend told me "theres 2 ways to become resourceful, being broke, and living on an island in the middle of no where".

Dan, you wouldnt happen to have gone and ran the hotchkis auto x at Mopars at The Strip 2010 did you? I swear I remember a 68 that was blue, 6pak hood, with 383 on the side......Nice 68

Cool, does it have a 383? That autocross looked pretty fun, too bad we never brought my friends hemi ram in the gates, that would have been pretty cool.

That's a big project but a very cool one! We look forward to seeing you complete it.

What sort of plans do you have for your build?

Yeah its gonna take some time and money, but the PO just neglected it and left it in the rain since like 86'. This is the exact mopar I wanted (big block, 4spd) so its time to bring her back from the brink my way!

Plans are pretty straight forward, aggressive street machine.

Suspension up front will be an Alterkation K frame from RMS. Out back will be a home built 3 link, similar to xvmotorsports just half the cost!

The motor will be either a 500ci stroked 440, or if I can source a 3rd gen hemi, just because it can build almost the same power stock, better mpg and can be wound a little tighter, either variant will be backed by the original A833 and 8 3/4 in the rear. Definitely gonna have to mini tub it, I wanna throw some huge meats back there!

Oahu. I wish it was Kailua-Kona. Oahu has gotten too crowded.
