While this maybe too soon, ( maybe not) but is there going to be a RTTC 2011?

Depending on the time of year ( weather plays an important part) I may head west with the wagon.

There is plans for a 2011 RTTC. We have not set a date as yet .... but it seems that Jan
or Feb are the most likely months. Yancy, Bill and I want to come west where it is warm when we are cold. We are open to listening to dates that would work. We need to get this in place so we can get the word out and start scheduling

Pretty much anytime you boys want to come to town, count me in!

I would think that a late winter/early spring date would be best, weather should be nice so you right coasters can come enjoy it.

I say make it close to SEMA so we can come out early or leave the cars out there and fly back so we only come accross country once.....

I wish I had that luxury, but alas I have to drive my wagon. the way they where made to. I have to contend with weather, as my wagon no longer is driven in snow.

I hope not on Easter weekend so I can stay all weekend and enjoy the festivities.

If its Jan or Feb as the most likely months, I'd vote for Feb. BUT not the same weekend as the Winternationals at Pomona.

Duly noted and definitely not Easter weekend. Will work on getting a definite date. Make sure yall check out Camaro Performers spread...8 pages of love from Steve and Nick for RTTC 1

I know this is southern California, but keep in mind January and February are our "rainy months"....

we get most of our 1/2'' of yearly rain during that time.

Autox and big course in the Rain? Yes... bring it! haha

Screw it, make it rain or shine. I think racing in the rain would be fun. We do SCCA events in the rain....

Those of from the northern states that would like to attend would have to content with nasty winter weather. Depending on the year, I'm not sure I could drive my car out of the neighborhood.

This year in May, we hit some nasty storms in the passes on I15 from SLC to San Diego. Not so big of a deal in my truck, would have to hunker down in my Camaro.

I would suggest April/May at least, besides, I need all the time I can get to get the car ready as this event makes the time line goal for me next year.

april/may is the best. youre really chancing it in jan/feb with the rain. our 1/2" may not be much, but it comes in 1/100th increments that would screw up a race day.

Ya were all supposed to be on street tires so rain would not be a problem. Besides Jan/Feb is really only the rainy season about every 3 to 5 years or when El Nino hits. Remember the Rose Parade has never been rained on in all the years it has been put on, it has rained right before and right after, but never on it.

I would agree that January and especially February are too risky for rain, especially if people are traveling to the event. March and April still has nice weather without the temps too cold or hot.

THanks for all the interest, phone calls, pms and emails guys. This should be one of the biggest and best protouring events ever. I look to have over 125 cars at this one. Yancy, Danny and myself look forward to seeing everyone again.

CNN Headlines!

"Do to the insolvency of the State of California all movement within and in and out of California will cease Friday morning October 15th @ 12:00 AM.

This travel ban wll remain in effect until January 1st 2025.

The lone exception is for Illegal Aliens who are still welcomed to travel freely."

I guess this travel ban kills RTTC 2 until 2026!

Heck with rain, this is an event I would like to attent, but January and Febuary are the busiest months of out work year, and with the usual amount of snow we have here there would be zero chance of driving to and from the event, trailering is a possibility, but then I feel like a poser saying I drive the car.

MrQuick
10-13-2010, 10:11 PM
using a trailer is ok, try to get over it. drive the last 100 miles if it makes you feel better but being there safe is what counts.

69fbodyproject
10-26-2010, 08:52 AM
Then doing this event might be a possibilty since it is in March. Nice part of using a trailer is if your like me and always seem to break something it means you can get it home without a mad thrash to fix it without all the proper tools. Maybe I can even get the 67 mobile by then, if not then I guess it would be the Roush, which isnt a bad thing either. Still hate trailers though.

I didn't see it mentioned in this thread, the DATES HAVE CHANGED - Feb. 25-27.

10-26-2010, 12:50 PM
Are these dates for sure now? I already had my wife make an appt. with a Dr. she wants to see while we're out there and now will have to change it. When can we expect a solid confirmation?

Bill Howell
10-26-2010, 12:55 PM
Eric, as long as the city doesn't change us, we are set. We thought we were set before, but once they got their planning complete, we were moved. I would put a 98% chance on the new dates, but never 100%. Sorry, but that is how it is when you are dealing with a city or state, hard to get them to give you 100%.

I understand Bill. If I am subscribed to this thread will that ensure I'm getting the latest info as well as when registration opens? Thanks

Bill Howell
10-26-2010, 03:25 PM
Yes, plus I will get Larry to send out a mass email to let everyone know registration is open. I will work on that as soon as SEMA is in my rear view mirror.

If you have the date set in stone at SEMA, I will get the info from there.

This looks like fun, it also means I need to put wipers and a heater in my car.

I really hope my car is done so I can make it. My suspension should be ready to go. If I have an unpainted fiberglass front end would I still be able to compete?

good meeting you, and having a face for the name. Saturday was the first time I wanted more HP. On the back straight I could only pull up to 105 mph and was WOT from the apex of the turn. Not sure what I'm going to do about that. But, I am definately in for RTTC. I'll see you there!
