Lame name I know but I'm not good at picking names. I picked up a 70 Camaro that I am gooing to try and do a budget build on. I hope to drive this as my daily driver so we will see how it goes. So here it goes.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2010/01/30903303688-1.jpg?1264547099 (http://www.fquick.com/garages/viewgallery.php?action=viewimg&id=303688)https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2010/01/30903303689-1.jpg?1264547112 (http://www.fquick.com/garages/viewgallery.php?action=viewimg&id=303689)
This is what it looked like when I brought it home. very happy with the condition and the price. Interior had a cheapo redo on it but it is all there and in decent condition. Hate vinyl tops so that has to go. Drivetrain is a 383 with a small cam, rpm manifold, holley, and S/R torquer heads. Hedman shorty headers and flowmaster. TH350, 10 bolt open diff 3.08.

My basic plan is as follows before I sell my truck and drive this puppy daily.

Inexpensive paint job. Get rid of vinyl. add front and rear spoilers. Add split bumper.
ProCar seats, New dash and full set of gauges, Add new heat and A/C system.(SoCal)
Hotchkis springs, QA1 shocks, Hellwig bars and somebodies subframe connectors.
Brakes corvette C5 Z51
Wheels and tires up in the air right now but hopefully NewGens and Nitto's if my plan works out
If I have the money I want a TKO trans, however I will probably have to settle for a 700R4 as my overdrive.
Swap in a 12 bolt 3.73 posi I have lying around.
Last but not least will be an LS motor of some kind. I probably won't put the LS in for a while but it is on the list.
Now for pics of where I am at now.

Vinyl top gone, rear spoiler added, Bigger rallyes on for now (had them), and Satin Black paint. I will be adding a gloss back stripe on the hood with a red pin, hopefully that turns out looking ok. I did a basic tuneup on the motor for now and it helped out quite a bit. Hopefully I can keep my progress up like some of the builds on this site. I will update as things change (hopefully improve).

Love the site guys and hope to see you on the autocross! And I guess I need to add something to my sig!

It looks cool in the satin black. What brand/type of paint is it?

PLEASE don't put the RS bumperettes on the stock nose! it always makes the grill look too big when people do that. if you keep the full bumper it'll actually be more unique since most guys go w/ the little bumpers or a full RS nose conversion.
just my opinion, of course.
like that you went w/ the 1 piece rear spoiler also, since most guys go w/ the 2 piece. nice to see a flat hood also.

I will consider your request about the split bumpers. The full bumper has grown on me so it isn't high on the list right now anyways.

Yes it is a pretty basic model. Definetely not a RS, SS or Z28.

That's what I was getting at. Cool to know you started with a base model, should be a fun project

probably one of the best -relating- names for a project car.

1. You will be spending a lot of money on her
2. If you have a girlfriend or wife, at some time they will be extremely jealous of the amount of time, that you are spending with her

3. The only thing more expensive than working on a car restoration, would be getting married and then divorced. ;)

Funny. This is exactly why I named her that. I have a understanding wife but since I have a chevelle in pieces right now she hasn't been as understanding about the Camaro. I keep telling her that they are investments and that once the Camaro is done it will have cost me half as much as buying a new car. In the end she knows this to be true, she just won't admit it to me.

I didn't want to post a pic of the hood until I got the pinstripe done but here it is. Gloss black stripe over flat black car and a red pinstripe. What do you guys think?

The tires will be going on it. 265/35/18 front, 295/35/18 rear. My problem is I have Rushforth SuperSpokes from my chevelle project I wanted to put on this camaro but the fronts rub the fender slightly and the rears I would need to narrow the rear end or rehoop the wheels. I have enough Sumitt Bucks to buy there 5-spoke 18's in the right backspace. I may put the summit 18's on for now.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I am having trouble deciding what to do with my wheels. Maybe I can get some input from you guys. Money is tight for this project so my choices are limited. And as I mentioned I have a set of Super Spokes but they dont quite fit.

What would you guys do? I have some sumitt bucks, so I could do options 2 or 3 right away and move on to suspension and brakes, etc. Options 1 and 4 would take some time but would probably look better in the end.

Narrow the rearend and massage the front inner fenders to get the smoked titanium super spokes to fit.
Use the tires on Summits new line of 5 spoke wheels in 18". Sell the wheels to fund other parts.
Buy the Cragar soft 8 wheels in black 17's and get new tires. Sell the wheels and tires to fund other parts.
Rehoop the Superspokes to fit the car and change the color to Black wheels?
Keep trying to sell them and buy something differant? I have had them for sale but the unique offset makes them a hard sell. Also in the end I have a Chevelle to put them on if they don't sell.
