While I know it's not a road course or an autocross but I for one would love to see how Kyle does in the dirt. BF Goodrich tires is asking people to vote on who they would like to see win the opportunity to run in the Baja 1000 this year.
As many of you know Kyle is a loyal user and abuser of BFG tires at DSE. Three Team BFG drivers will be selected to drive a BFG sponsored WOE Challenge buggy in the 2010 SCORE Baja 1000.
All you need to to is sign up at www.nationofgo.com to vote. The Nation of Go website is about all users of BFG Tires talking about and posting pictures and videos of recent race events, drives, or just cool things experienced on a trail or the road and well, many of you are already members there or should be.
I am asking you to go to www.nationofgo.com go to forums, then go to the Racing Events section of the forum and click on BAJA. Next click on “Who should drive the BFG Wide Open Baja Challenge Car in the 2010 SCORE Baja 1000? #2” (http://www.nationofgo.com/forums/?plckForumPage=ForumDiscussion&plckDiscussionId=Cat%3a793a6efd-1a75-49d3-9a4a-12b103eb7bc1Forum%3a07d6fd3e-7fac-43bd-a9cb-1b47b5b9fd79Discussion%3abf741759-c89b-41e2-b673-e4d27e5ad731) and please vote for Kyle Tucker.
Vote often and feel free to join the Nation of Go website and check back in late September to see who is selected.
Right now Kyle is in second place and we can easily push him over the top.

Does the Baja 1000 run anywhere around San Felipe? If it does I have a piece of land there at El dorado Ranch. Im sure someone has heard of it. If he wins votes he is more than welcome to stage any equipment there if he would like.

Thanks to everyone to has voted for Kyle to drive in the Baja 1000 for BFG. As many of you know, Kyle is not very good in asking for votes or help when it comes to solicitation. He is in 2nd place as of right now to an off-road racer. Lets show everyone what the Pro-Touring community can do, and how well our drivers can perform! Thanks, again, to everyone!

Come on, guys! We can do better than that. This board has a lot more power than this! VOTE VOTE VOTE!
Leveraging Kyle's friends here on PT should easily put him in the driver's seat. Driving Baja has always been a dream for me and having a good friend get the chance is the next best thing.

I don't know if you guys noticed, but the Pirate 4x4 guys are all over that Jason fella -- the Pirate 4x4 crowd is not just a little bit nuts.
I feel bad saying it, but I just don't see how pro-touring.com and lateral-g combined could overcome that.

I work at Detroit Speed and Kyle has helped me out a lot since high school. He is a very giving down to earth guy. He would love to have this opportunity. Its great to see him in the running for it. Lets try and spread the word as much as possible and keep him in this position.

Ok, I was trying to throw down the gauntlet with this -- Kyle want's to go drive a truck, let's give him a shot. Friends, kids, wives, mother in laws, dogs, neighbors, lets get them to vote for Kyle. Let's get this thing going viral.
How about an email chain letter -- we could end it with "Every vote behind that Kyle Tucker is, a puppy dies" or maybe a "69 Camaro ends up on a Chevy 4x4 chassis"?

SCCA champ joins Team BFG members for SCORE Baja 1000
When Chad Gilsinger won his first-ever Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) National Runoffs Championship in his Touring 3-class BFGoodrich g-Force R1-shod Honda S2000 at Road America, he thought he was at the pinnacle of his motorsports career. That was until the Honda engineer realized that he had also won the unique BFGoodrich Tires SCCA contingency prize – a spot on BFGoodrich Tires/Wide Open Excursions “Baja Challenge” (BC) race team in the 43rd Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. The legendary off-road event, to be held Nov. 18 – 21, is on the “bucket list” of most racers, and this year will mark BFGoodrich Tires’ 35th anniversary of toughness, grip and acceleration conquering the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000.
“The race to the Touring 3 SCCA championship was exciting and it was made even sweeter with the win for a seat in the Wide Open Excursions BFGoodrich BC buggy,” said Gilsinger, who hails out of Marysville, Ohio and has never driven in an off-road event before. “I’m thrilled to jump in anything with a motor and four tires and can’t wait to put the insane toughness and grip of the BFGoodrich Mud-TerrainKM2s to the test on the Baja peninsula in November.”
Gilsinger will join TeamBFG members Bud Brutsman, Jason Scherer, Casey Currie, Lars Wolfe and Kyle Tucker, who, in honor of BFGoodrich Tires’ desert domination, engaged in a contest that rewarded the coveted seats in the Baja 1000. Having produced SCORE Baja 1000 documentaries “Chasing Baja” and “Born in Baja” and raced on the 2007 BFGoodrich Tires BC team, Brutsman is no stranger when it comes to running the peninsula. Scherer brings years of off-road and rock crawling experience to the team including a reign as the winner of the 2009 King of the Hammers. Currie, fresh off his TORC Pro Light Championship, also has plenty of experience racing both trucks and motorcycles in Baja. Wolfe’s rally background has prepared him for racing in the dirt while his endurance racing should prove helpful for hours behind the wheel. Tucker, owner of Detroit Speed Engineering, will draw upon his multiple autocross championships to deliver precise driving on his section of the Baja race course.
“We’re putting winners, all of whom upgrade their performance with our tires, in a SCORE Baja 1000 car – and showcasing that it can all be done and it can all be won on BFGoodrich tires,” said Roberts Kukainis, motorsports manager, BFGoodrich Tires. “Congratulations to Chad Gilsinger for winning the SCCA Runoffs T3 crown, and we look forward to seeing him, and our TeamBFG members, at the finish line in La Paz!”
The 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 starts on Nov. 18 in Ensenada and will finish in La Paz, running the length of the Baja peninsula. In 2010, BFGoodrich Tires is commemorating 35 years of winning grip and toughness with SCORE International in Baja racing. BFGoodrich Tires has won the overall four-wheel title 50 times combined in the SCORE Baja 500 and 1000, including 23 of the past 24 years and a record stretch of 20 consecutive victories in the 1000 (1986 – 2005). More information about the granddaddy of off-road races is available at www.score-international.com.

Hey everyone, I wanted to thank all of you for your votes! The official announcement came this past week. Team BFG is made up of Bud Brutsman, Jason Scherer, Lars Wolfe, Casey Currie, Chad Gilsinger, and myself. I am really looking forward to competing and hoping to bring back a win for BFG's Mud-Terrain KM2 tires. I will be pre-running the course the week of October 25th, and then going back for the race the week of November 15th. I'll keep you all posted as the race gets closer.

It looks like they are about ready to race.
TeamBFG members Bud Brutsman, Casey Currie, Jason Scherer, Kyle Tucker and Lars Wolfe, along with SCCA T3 Champion Chad Gilsinger and BFGoodrich Tires' own Jeff Cummings strike a pre-Baja 1000 pose with the BC05 race car in front of Horsepower Ranch.
