a 180 degree V8 = an even-fire V8 w/ flat-plane crank. It has nothing to do with valve centerline angle.

I'd start with some of the various crank houses- Callies, HTC, LA, etc.

I think a 180 degree crank is suposed to make our motors think they are two hooked together two Iron Duke 4-bangers! Just race stuff if not mistaken.

How about an all aluminum, 15 degree headed, small block for about $3500?

I believe he's speaking of the LS1 and related engines.

:pat: ........just can't get used to these new fangled Gen III's. Been playing with the old small blocks for so long, I think my vision has narrowed :squint: . The more I learn about them, the more I want one though. Anybody willing to give away a nice little Vega so I can stuff a Gen III in it? :candle:
Yeah yeah, I know....... :offtopic:

I talked to Crower about it years ago for a twin turbo motor. They said they had built a couple motors with 180 degree cranks, but they vibraded so bad they gave up. The idea was, in a turbo application it would smooth out the exhaust pulses. It just didn't work.
