I saw a Delorean just Friday. Bizarre that this thread would pop up out of the blue. That black one is pretty cool.

I have to say that rear 3/4 view of the black one has sort of an early lotus esprit look to it. Like most designs, the early ones were quite pretty, the later ones looked like crap.

Ever since Back to the Future I've had a soft spot for those cars. I love the looks of the white car.

For a full build, I think I'd be starting with little more than the shell. I never was too keen on their drivetrain, backbone frame, or suspension design.

I see one at work every day. A guy a couple buildings down owns one. Nice cars.

Hmm... Paint on stainless steel, what kinda prep do you think is involved?

Sometimes the painted ones have been in accidents to the point where they can't metalwork it back into shape so that leaves you with bondo and paint. Probably hard to get stainless repair panels!

Hard and Expensive ! LoL I've worked with Stainless Steel for a good portion of my adult career I do know how much work repairing one would be. I have always wanted one or at least had the option to work on one ! I understand why you'd paint one over some body damage, Just thinking about how much time it would take me to repair a baseball dent let alone 2 crumpled fenders. As cool as the car is it would probably not warrant a repair bill more that the car is worth.
